When we opened in 2004 there were already a lot of coffee shops in Toronto, but we wanted to offer something different: an authentic Italian espresso bar.
First and foremost that meant an espresso blend that met the highest standard – bold enough for a perfect cappuccino or Americano, but smooth enough to be enjoyed on its own, the way most Italians drink espresso.
Our award-winning 100% Arabica roast is a classic Italian blend of coffee beans from three contents: Latin America, Africa and Asia. We carefully oversee the process from farm to packaging and roast weekly to ensure a fresh, consistent taste. The result is a rich, bold espresso roast, low in acidity, with a chocolaty finish.
And in case you’re wondering why we call ourselves b espresso, we believe the perfect espresso is equal parts art and science, the result of a symbiotic relationship between bean and barista.
